What to check before buying screen spline
Mesh quantity and spline compatibility are separate parts of the repair.
Size is about the groove and material
Screen width and height can help estimate the length of spline needed, but they do not identify its diameter or profile. Check the existing groove, the frame system and the selected mesh against the relevant manufacturer guidance.
Do not assume the old spline still fits
Changing the mesh material or thickness can affect the spline choice. Existing spline can also be damaged or stretched. Inspect it and use the product’s sizing guidance rather than choosing a diameter from the screen’s outer dimensions.
Measure the path
For purchasing length, measure the actual spline path around each frame and add the allowance appropriate to your installation. An outside-frame perimeter is only an approximation. Mesh Measure intentionally leaves spline diameter and included kit length out of its automated purchase comparison.
Check the kit label
Before ordering, confirm the spline diameter, profile and included length, plus whether a suitable roller is supplied. Treat mesh, spline and tools as separate checks even when they come in one package.
